About Shawn

As a born and raised resident of Leduc, I have spent 45 of my 47 years living in our great community; only leaving for those 2 years in my 20's to work abroad. Upon returning to Canada I met my wife Robin and soon after moved her out to Leduc with me to raise our family. Now the proud father of 4 boys, what better place for them to grow up the way I did. With 25 plus years of coaching; 10 with Leduc Minor Football, 10 with Leduc Minor Hockey, and 8 with the L.A. Crude Junior Rugby program, I give back to our community by way of coaching our youth in the programs that helped shape me as a child into adulthood. I am running for City Council to take that next step in giving back to our community, to bring that small town feel back even as our city grows.

Roots in Leduc

Shawn was born and raised here, learned his work ethic on local fields and rinks, and now cheers from the stands as a dad and coach. He believes City Hall works best when it listens first, acts quickly, and reports back. Family: Shawn and Robin are proud parents of four boys. Weeknights and weekends usually mean practices, games, and community events right where they love to be.

25+ Years Coaching Our Youth

Leduc Minor Football — 10 seasons Building fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence for young athletes. Leduc Minor Hockey — 10 seasons Teaching discipline and sportsmanship on and off the ice. L.A. Crude Junior Rugby — 8 seasons Mentoring teens and young adults through a sport that shaped Shawn’s own life. What coaching taught me: show up, do the work, take care of your team, and own the results. That’s how Shawn will serve at City Hall.

Why I’m Running

Safe neighborhoods. More visible policing and common-sense prevention to curb crime across every community. Strong recreation. Make youth sports more affordable and break ground on the Westside Rec Centre so more kids can play. A city that works. Clear budgets, responsive service, and less red tape especially for seniors and small business.
